Attention All WMATA Metro Riders - Please Read

Be Metro Ready!

All of you have heard the news of the Metro incident in Washington DC. However, the last time you were on public transportation, did you take the time to review the emergency procedures?

Please take a few minutes to review the WMATA Emergency Preparedness tips.

Spending a few minutes now, RIGHT NOW. It might help save your life or the help you provide may save the lives of others around you.

Sad to say, it takes a tragedy, such as the one we just saw, to bring emergency preparedness back to the forefront.

Be Ready. Be Metro Ready!

In Case of Emergency Provide Recommendations To New Administration

In Case of Emergency Blog provided the following:

Blog Update / Citizen Preparedness Recommendations For New Year & New Administration

Several of the recommendations including the following should be implemented:

"* CITIZEN PREPAREDNESS TASK FORCE — CREATE A “CITIZEN PREPAREDNESS OUTREACH TASK FORCE” EARLY ON AT THE HOMELAND SECURITY DEPARTMENT OR THE WHITE HOUSE COMPRISED OF RELEVANT STAKEHOLDERS FROM VARIOUS AREAS OF THE PREPAREDNESS COMMUNITY. THE GROUP WOULD ASSESS THE CURRENT STATE OF CITIZEN PREPAREDNESS AND WORK ON DEVELOPING NEW APPROACHES, MESSAGING AND EDUCATION CAMPAIGNS FOR THE PUBLIC."

In order for there to be "change" in the new administration, the citizens needs to be included.
